Hello.

I’m Katie.

I know what it’s like to live and work in a way that is stressful and feels bad.

I get how hard it can be to break free from patterns and cycles that no longer serve you.

I’ve been there.

My focus and passion for fostering wellbeing, mindfulness, and compassion are not only based on my professional education but are also rooted in my own lived experience.

My decision to pursue a life path in counseling and wellness was inspired by a mentor who helped me work through my own limiting thoughts and cycles.

It was during my education my teachers and friends taught me that a fulfilling life involves community, creativity, and growth. It was with their support that I developed my own mindfulness practice which allowed me to grow into who I am today.

Throughout my journey I learned that personal growth is professional growth, and who I am as a person matters as much as what I know as a therapist.

& Wellness Education Mindfulness

– Center for Mindfulness at the University of California, San Diego

– Metta Earth Institute in Vermont

– Findhorn Ecovillage in Scotland

It’s through these deep explorations and experiences that I was able to strengthen my commitment to fostering growth and connection in my own life and the lives of others.

& Clinical Education Internships

– B.A. in Psychotherapy, Mindfulness, and Creative Expression from the University of Redlands in Southern California.

– M.A. in Mental Health Counseling and Behavioral Medicine at Boston University School of Medicine.

The education prepared me for licensure as a clinical mental health counselor and trained me to work with diverse clients in a wide range of settings.

I also completed an internship in drug and alcohol treatment through the Veteran’s Administration in Boston and later worked for several years as a counselor in a methadone clinic.

I believe that we are more than what we do and more than our job titles. I am grateful for the mentors, friends, family and clients that I have had the privilege to know throughout my life.

My decision to move to Seattle was made for my self-care and wellbeing. Balance, joy, community and time outdoors became my priority.

In my free time I can be found in nature, playing board and video games with friends and family, traveling or reading.
